WAYS YOU
CAN CONTRIBUTE
Choose and buy gifts
from the recommended list (see “Suggested Weapons of Mass Affection” below). You may take your items to
the Postal Annex at 6444 E. Spring Street, Long Beach, CA 90815, where they have our son’s address on file and
can help with packaging and mailing costs.
If you prefer, please
call 562-499-1270, or email us at debtom@mac.com and we will arrange a pick-up or drop-off location that is more convenient for you.
Or, if you wish to
make a contribution to our postage fund, please make your check payable to “Postal Annex” and send it to
Tom and Deb Hennessy,

Here's a list that includes the type of goods useful for our project. Using gallon ziplock
type baggies works well, and can include any of the following:
- 12-inch rulers with metric markings
- new pencils with erasers
- pencil sharpeners
- NO crayons
- colored pencils are acceptable
- writing paper (composition notebooks, lined paper, construction paper)
- file folders with pockets
- zippered pencil bags, etc.
- small cars, (e.g., Hot Wheels types)
- small super bouncy balls
- small stuffed animals (e.g. Beanie Babies)
- t-shirts (the children love t-shirts that have any kind of town name, sports, or school logo.)
- individually wrapped hard candy (NO chocolate)
- coloring books with minimal text
We have been informed by our son John, and other military sources, that all material distributed
to Iraqi children must be new. NO previously worn t-shirts, used pencils, used toys, etc.
